Top Player Picks

Dumfries (DEF – 4.5m)
A very attacking wing back who has previously performed well in similar tournaments. He’s got 5 assists in his last 8 games for the Netherlands but this is reflected in a high price tag. I’m not sure I’ll go for him from the off with France up second.

Veerman (MID – 3m)
Budget option at 3m but if he starts he’s got 4 goals involvements in his past 7 games. That’s 3 assists and 1 goal, and often from the bench so it does feel like a bit of a punt. One to consider but could be better options for 3m.

Gakpo (STR- 4m)
Not a bad price for someone who’s had 3 goals and 2 assists in his past 7 games. That’s the joint highest goal involvement of anyone else on the Netherlands list. I’m not sure he’s certain to start though so a huge risk. 

Summary

I’ve started previous tournaments with players from the Netherlands and they did well for me. This was the likes of Depay, de Jong and Dumfries. However, I believe they had much better opening fixtures in these tournaments and I’m less drawn to them this time. Their opening fixture against Poland is good but their second game against France couldn’t be much worse. I’m sure a few of their players might do well in the first game but picking out the obvious point scorer is difficult so I’m likely to just keep an eye on them to start with.
