Top Player Picks
Lukaku (STR – 5.5m)
He’s probably not a player I’d be looking at had I not looked into the stats. Lukaku has an incredible goalscoring record for Belgium recently, pair that with good fixtures and he’s impossible to ignore. He’s got 14 goals in his last 9 games.
Castagne (DEF – 3.5m)
Of the bigger nations who are tipped to have a chance of winning the whole tournament, there aren’t many defenders priced lower than 4m. Despite having good fixtures and being in this bracket of nations with a chance of doing well, all of Belgium’s defenders are under 4m. This represents good value to me. I’ve picked out Castagne due to his potential for attacking returns.
Faes (DEF – 3m)
For the same reasons as above but if you’re looking to save 0.5m, Faes could be a good option over Castagne.
De Bruyne (MID – 7m)
I couldn’t leave De Bruyne off the list as he is one of the best midfielders in the world. However, at 7m he’s a little overpriced for me.
Doku (MID – 5m)
If Belgium do well, I think Doku will have a good tournament. He’s another that is a little overpriced for me though. I’d have expected him to be the same or slightly less than the likes of Silva, Musiala, and Wirtz.
Summary
Due to their fixtures, I’ve certainly got an interest in owning a couple of Belgium players to kick off the tournament. Depending on budget Lukaku and Castagne look like the best picks for me. Having said that there are a number of their players who could do well – including those I’ve listed above. I’m not sure how they will perform when it comes to the knockout stage but that won’t stop me targeting their players to start with.
Really stumped on transfers for this week as it’s guess work with who is going to score well. Alexander-Arnold and Solanke have to come out for me but who to bring in was less straightforward. I’ve opted for Dalot as he’s got good potential attacking returns although there’s a game…
