Review of Game Week 33

Review of Game Week 33

GW Points: 83
Overall Points: 3,745
Overall Rank: 300

Game week 33 was a little flat, the team did progress up the leaderboard slightly which is better than a drop but realistically I’ve just stayed where I was. My hand may be forced into making certain transfers as well with potential injuries to Ederson and Fernandes. I didn’t want to use a transfer on either of them as I’d be happy to keep both until the end of the season. As we approach the final few game weeks I need to decide as to whether I’m happy with my overall position – which will be the best I’ve ever achieved or if I want to take some massive risks to try and finish even higher. At the moment my team pretty much covers the highest owned players from teams in the top 1,000 on the leaderboard so it’s fairly risk-averse. This should ensure I don’t move down much on the leaderboard but I’m also unlikely to go up significantly. I haven’t decided how I’ll play this yet but it’s also worth a reminder that the transfer deadline is 7pm tonight.

Here is my breakdown of each player:

Ederson – likely to need replacing due to injury.

Gabriel – keep for the rest of the season.

Alexander-Arnold – will keep until the end of the season.

Van Dijk – want to move him on with Liverpool’s poor recent form

De Bruyne – keep for the rest of the season.

Foden – keep for the rest of the season.

Palmer – keep for the rest of the season.

Saka – keep for the rest of the season..

Fernandes – keep for the rest of the season, unless he’s injured this week.

Watkins – keep for another week, but probably move on after. Villa likely to go out of Europe.

Haaland – keep for the rest of the season.

Plan for game week 34

As mentioned above, if I want to finish even higher I may need to take a few risks going into the final few game weeks. This week might not be the time to do that though with players being injured and Villa being the only team with a double game week. If Fernandes wasn’t an injury doubt I’d probably swap Ederson for Onana (a little risky going for a keeper with lower ownership) and Van Dijk for someone like Gvardiol (again fairly low ownership but does score well when he plays). Alternatively, I could swap either Ederson or Van Dijk and then use my other transfer to switch Fernandes to Isak for a couple of game weeks. I’m going to ponder this for the rest of the day but I’ll post an update to confirm my final plans.
