Transfers used: Ake out, Shaw in
Kane out, Salah in

It was all going so well until the midweek fixtures. Ake returning and then getting on the score sheet was a disaster. I thought it was going to be one of those injuries that just dragged on so was trying to be proactive in bringing Shaw in. However, Man Utd were still to play so all wasn’t lost. Shaw looked to be a good transfer after all until the 99th minute last night. A late penalty took out his clean sheet, along with De Gea. It could have been such a positive week had it not been for that late goal. Either way, the team did climb slightly on the leaderboard and my other transfer paid off with Salah out-scoring Kane. Fernandes, Mahrez, and Haaland also did well for me this week. It was frustrating to see De Bruyne miss both games though as I didn’t realise he was injured until after I’d made my transfers.

Player watchlist

Other than the players I’ve got, my watchlist isn’t too big. My team has been performing well since the World Cup so it’s difficult to see what else to change. Fixture volume favours Man City and Man Utd to a certain extent so if I was to bring anyone in, it would likely be Stones, Grealish or even go back to Ake.

Plan for game week 33

Given the fixtures for the game week ahead, I’m unlikely to make any changes. Only Man City have a double game week and it will be interesting to see how they get on against Madrid but it could well be a low point scoring game. Not having Kane worries me but I’ve not got the budget to swap Rashford for Kane in a single move. I’m also not prepared to downgrade significantly elsewhere. If I were to make any changes, the players I’d be looking to take out would be the likes of Saka, Shaw, De Gea or Rashford. At the moment, I can’t see the value in doing this as they are all capable of a decent return in any game week (other than perhaps De Gea, who is unlikely to ever pick up more than 8 points in a game).

I’ve updated the fixtures spreadsheet below, this is manually put together but should now cover all fixtures until the end of the season:

    1. Good point, I’d kind of excluded them from my thinking due to how poor they’ve been in the league but in hindsight Benrahma would have been a good pick this week.
