Review of Game Week 28

Review of Game Week 28

GW Points: 42
Overall Points: 3,145
Overall Rank: 123

Game week 28 didn’t have any real effect on the overall leaderboard. It was a single fixture game week and we’ve got an International break on the horizon so I’ll keep my review fairly short. My transfers had a positive impact with Salah and Palmer picking up 20 points between them – I’d have obviously got 0 points for De Bruyne and Saka who didn’t play. My problem is that Ederson is injured and I’ll want Saka and De Bruyne back in at some point. However, there’s no point in worrying about this at the moment as it seems like a long time before the next game week.

Here is my breakdown of each player:

Ederson – injured, may need to be replaced but hopefully not.

Gabriel – hold with good fixtures volume coming up.

Bradley – didn’t start in the FA Cup, may need to move on if he keeps getting benched.

Van Dijk – will probably keep until the end of the season.

Bowen – didn’t do much this weekend but has a lot of fixtures coming up so I’ll keep.

Palmer – will probably keep for the next game week but may move on after that.

Foden – another keeper for the rest of the season.

Diaz – not quite as consistent as I’d hoped but Liverpool do have good fixtures. Slight question mark against him with Saka needing to come back in.

Salah – keep for the rest of the season.

Watkins – didn’t do much this week but another with good fixture volume due to European involvement.

Haaland – keep for the rest of the season and probably captain most weeks.

Player watchlist

Salah – got some minutes in yesterday, top priority to bring him back in now.

Saka – will almost certainly want him back for the next game week.

De Bruyne – will want him back at some point but not sure when.

Nunez – might be worth considering with good fixtures ahead.

Kudus – on my list to consider but probably not for the next game week.

Alexander-Arnold – will need to be considered when he returns from injury.

Plan for game week 29

Game week 29 feels like a long way away at the moment so I’ve got no real plans yet. We don’t know what injuries might be picked up during the International break as well. If I want Saka back in my problem is knowing who to take out. It’s probably between Watkins, Diaz and Bowen at this stage but there’s a case for keeping all three of them given their upcoming fixtures. For the time being, I’m just going to see what happens during the break as my hand could be forced anyway.
