I’ve held position again for the third week in a row, which is great news when the team is already flying high but a little frustrating as I’d like to continue to make progress up the leaderboard. My transfers did pay off though with good returns from Ederson and Salah. Although I felt a little unlucky that Salah missed the game against Luton. It also wasn’t ideal that Jota picked up a long term injury but at least my team is well set up to make some proactive changes going into game week 25.
Here is my breakdown of each player:
Ederson – decent 12 points in his first game week in my team. Stays in until the end of the season unless he gets injured.
Walker – bounced back after a bad first game week in my team. Solid 12 points.
Trippier – not happy with 2 points from Trippier, could be one to move on.
Van Dijk – very happy with 14 points from Van Dijk this week.
Palmer – as I predicted Palmer didn’t do well this week but I’ll keep him for Chelsea’s double game week coming up.
Saka – again glad I stuck with Saka, good returns once again this week.
Foden – happy with 10 points from Foden, he stays in my team for the season unless he’s injured.
De Bruyne – carries on ticking over nicely with another 8 points.
Salah – really happy with 10 points from the bench for Salah considering his ownership isn’t as high as I thought it would be. Annoying that he’s picked up a minor injury though.
Haaland – can’t ask for much more than 15 points from Haaland. Stays in and will probably be captain for me most weeks.
Jota – has scored well for me but needs to come out due to injury.
Player watchlist
Diaz – thought it would be overkill to have Diaz, Salah, and Jota so avoided him last week but he scored well. With Jota now being injured, Diaz could be a good option for me now.
Alexander-Arnold – is currently injured but I’d want him ahead of Trippier when he returns.
Rodri – back in the points and City tend to come good at this time of year. He could be a good consistent point scorer to bring in.
R. Dias – for the same reason as Rodri, another Man City defender might be a good option until the end of the season.
Saliba/Gabriel – it could well have been a mistake to take Saliba out, he’s scored well since. Both have around 20% ownership within the top 100 teams so it could be dangerous not to have one of them.
Bowen – I won’t be bringing him back in this week as he’s not scored well recently but one to consider when European fixtures restart for West Ham.
Plan for game week 25
If I could bring in two midfielders for Trippier and Jota this week I’d be happy with Diaz and Rodri, however, this isn’t a possible formation. I’m slightly favouring Diaz as my replacement for Jota at this stage so he could be the one that comes in. I’m also tempted to take Trippier out, Ruben Dias could be a good option to come in. I don’t think it makes sense to go for an Arsenal defender this week as they’ve only got a single fixture. I’ll make my final decision on Saturday morning though.
Anyone considered KDB being unfit ?
And Uniteds number 11?
