Really happy with how game week 20 panned out. The week isn’t quite over yet but it’s just Bournemouth to play. My position on the leaderboard could change but right now I’m 28th, which I’m delighted with. Most of my players scored very well again and Palmer was a good pick for captain. This didn’t result in much movement on the leaderboard but I’m guessing when you’re this close to the top it becomes quite difficult to move even higher up as most people have similar teams.
Here is my breakdown of each player:
Dubravka – I’ll take 4 points considering Newcastle played City.
Saliba – good to see Saliba back in the points after a quiet few game weeks. Happy with 8 points.
Colwill – delighted with 13 points from Colwill given his value. He’s probably served his purpose in my team now though.
Van Dijk – can’t argue with 10 points from Van Dijk in his first game week in my team.
Palmer – very happy with 24 points from Palmer considering he was my captain. He’s been brilliant since I bought him in.
Saka – 5 points from Saka weren’t great but he’s the second highest scoring player in the game and due to his explosive potential I’ll be keeping him long term.
Foden – 5 points wasn’t the best from Foden either but he’s contributed a lot of points for me so he stays in the team.
Sterling – another one that’s done well for me recently but he’s also probably served his purpose with European fixtures back on the horizon shortly.
Watkins – a transfer that hasn’t paid off. He’s definitely coming out with this week’s transfers.
Nunez – another pick that’s resulted in instant returns. 19 points from Nunez was a very good result.
Jota – proof that picking players based on fixtures and not the past week’s form can work. Jota didn’t have a good week previously but I liked his fixtures so I bought him in any way – instant returns of 19 points as well.
Player watchlist
Haaland – he’s coming back in when he’s fit to play. Will always either be in my team or on the watch list.
De Bryune – I’d imagine he will be a popular transfer over the next couple of weeks. Has to be on the radar.
Porro – keeps racking up points but Spurs play City at the weekend so I may dodge for now.
Bowen – scored well for me when I had him but may wait with West Ham only having a single game week.
Alexander-Arnold – only took him out due to injury. Would be looking to bring him back in when he’s fit again.
Estupinan – has good upcoming fixtures and he seems like a popular pick at the moment. I could be tempted to bring him in for Colwill this week.
Plan for game week 21
I’m slightly undecided on which transfers I’ll make this week. I’m going to lose Watkins and either Colwill or Sterling. If Haaland is fit I’ll be bringing him straight back in – although I’ve got a feeling he won’t be. I’m also tempted by De Bruyne who could be a decent replacement for Watkins, but I’ve got question marks against his game time as well due to him returning from injury. Estupinan scored well during the last game week and Brighton do have favourable fixtures so I’m tempted to bring him in for Colwill. I think he will be a popular choice with other people as well so he’s a fairly safe pick. We still need to hear what is said in tomorrow’s press conferences so I’ll confirm my transfers either way when we know a bit more.
Hi Paul excellent write up as normal, thanks for that. I’ve just seen Pep has said haalland won’t be ready till the 31st. Do you think it’s worth bringing him in now
Thanks Dave, I won’t be bringing him in this week if he’s not likely to be available. Will be next week for me
