Overall the game week was a bit hit and miss. I had some good results Alexander-Arnold, Bowen, Foden, Saka, Son and Salah all hitting double figure scores. However, I did have a couple of scores that let the team down – only 5 points from Dubravka wasn’t great, Tsimikas picking up an injury was a bit of a disaster as I’m going to have to take him out and Watkins only picked up 5 points. It’s also worth remembering that I took Garnacho out for Watkins, with Garnacho typically scoring twice against Villa. It’s not a decision I can regret though as Garnacho didn’t really look like hitting a big score at any point soon. All in all, I can’t complain about how my season is going so far. I’m still sat within the top 200 teams on the overall leaderboard and I’m relatively happy with the players I’ve got in my team.
Here is my breakdown of each player:
Dubravka – should be a decent long term option considering his very low value.
Saliba – stays in my team considering he’s the third highest scoring defender in the game.
Tsimikas – needs to be replaced due to a longer term injury.
Alexander-Arnold – top scoring defender in the game, stays in my team.
Bowen – another good week from Bowen, he stays in my team.
Saka – 10 points isn’t a huge return but he stays in my team as the highest scoring midfielder in the game.
Foden – happy with 12 points from 1 game this week.
Ward-Prowse – not overly happy with 7 points from 2 games for Ward-Prowse. I may need to keep him for a little longer but I’ve got a question mark next to him at the moment.
Watkins – will make way for Haaland at some point. Disappointed with only 5 points this week.
Son – pleased with 15 points across the game week.
Salah – happy with another 13 points from Salah.
Player watchlist
Haaland – he’s coming back in when he’s fit to play. Will always either be on my team or on the watch list.
Trippier – good returns this week but not sure I want to bring him in for a single game week against Liverpool.
Palmer – glad I swerved Palmer last week after a poor return but Chelsea do have good fixtures on the horizon.
Olise – double game week for Palace and he’s been in good form since he returned from injury.
Alvarez – with Haaland out and City playing Sheff Utd it’s tempting to put Alvarez back in. However, I’m fairly happy with my front three given the fixtures ahead so I’ll probably stick with the three I’ve got.
Walker – again simply because City play Sheff Utd, I’m tempted to stick Walker in for the time being in place of Tsimikas.
Plan for game week 18
I’m slightly undecided on what transfers to make this week. As a result, I’ll make a final decision in the morning. However, I’m very tempted by Ward-Prowse out for Olise, simply because Olise has a very good average points score per game played and Palace have two fixtures this week. I’ll then need to use my other transfer to take out Tsimikas. At the moment I’m debating bringing in Trippier or Walker (who has the best fixture on paper). I don’t really see Walker as an exciting move given his points total for the season so far but at the same time, Trippier has Liverpool and Man City to play in the next three games.
You need to consider it’s son and salahs last game before afcon and the Asia cup you could leave your self short if anyones suspended or injured needing to take them out
Yeah good point, I hadn’t considered that but I’ve used 12th man for Olise now.
If you put in Olise for Ward-Prowse , he has no game in game-week 19 , the week Salah and Son depart. Therefore you will only have 10 players .
If you want Olise for the double-game week, the only way round it is to take out Son . Then you could flip from Olise to Palmer the week you take out Salah.
Yeah good point, I hadn’t considered that but I’ve used 12th man for Olise now.
