I’m very happy with how game week 15 played out. I’ve moved slightly closer to getting within the top 100 teams on the overall leaderboard with a respectable 68 points from the week. I made a few more points by bringing in Bowen and Garnacho so my transfers paid off. I also built a little more value in my team. Overall I’m really happy with how my season has gone so far and I’m enjoying the new format. I’m less than 100 points off the top of the leaderboard. With a little bit of luck on a slight differential, I could easily make a jump into the top 50 teams. This could swing the other way if I have a bad game week but the team appears to be going in the right direction so far.
Here is my breakdown of each player:
Sanchez – not great – 3 points and injured. Unfortunately, I’ve got a few injuries or suspended players so may have to keep him.
Saliba – 7 points wasn’t the best but not the end of the world.
Tsimikas – not overly happy with 3 points from Tsimikas but we’ve got to remember he’s a budget option so we can’t expect consistency of points every week.
Alexander-Arnold – he’s contributed a lot of points recently, 7 this week wasn’t huge but I’m not unhappy with his place in my team.
Bowen – happy with 11 points from Bowen in his first week back in my team.
Garnacho – had he hit a big score by pure chance I’d have had a very good week. I didn’t really expect it to happen and it didn’t but 6 points wasn’t an awful result. I did plan to take him out this week but not sure I can now with injuries/suspensions.
Saka – 7 points wasn’t the best from Saka but he stays in my team.
Foden – happy with 9 points. Stays in my team.
Fernandes – not happy with 5 points from Fernandes. He’s also suspended so he won’t play this week and with Man Utd out of Europe I’m going to move him on.
Haaland – luckily captaining an injured Haaland didn’t cost me this week. Need to find out the extent of his injury before deciding what to do this week.
Salah – 10 points was OK from Salah, he stays in my team.
Player watchlist
Dubravka – very cheap but he’s conceded 9 goals in his first three games in the team. Newcastle do have two fixtures this week but will be missing Trippier in the first game.
Trippier – is the highest scoring defender and I can see him keeping this up. Not sure about bringing him in this week as he’s suspended for 1 game and Newcastle have just gone out of Europe.
Son – big score this week and may bring him in for a prise rise and hope he can get some points at the weekend.
Gordon – Newcastle have two fixtures this week but I’m not sure if Gordon is carrying an injury.
Kudus – tempted to bring him in for a potential price rise given that he’s got two fixtures this week as well.
Nunez – I keep looking at Nunez but he never really gives me a good reason to bring him in. Two fixtures again for Liverpool this week though.
Ward-Prowse – tempted to bring him back in given that West Ham have two games this week.
Plan for game week 16
The difficulty for game week 16 is who to take out rather than who to bring in. I’m fairly happy with my team and there’s no one that I’m overly bothered about bringing in given the fixtures ahead this week, especially with Trippier being suspended. I could have three players that won’t feature this week in Haaland, Fernandes and Sanchez. We know for certain that Fernandes won’t play so I’ll take him out. If we hear in the press conferences today that Haaland and Sanchez won’t feature it’s going to be difficult to know who to take out. Haaland only has one game this week anyway but I’ll be wanting to bring him back in as soon as he’s fit so it’s awkward to take him out. At the same time, I don’t want an attacking position blanking for certain. I’m also considering Garnacho, I don’t fancy Man Utd against Liverpool and this was meant to be a one week only punt. In an ideal world, Sanchez and Haaland are fit and I swap Fernandes and Garnacho for Son and a West Ham player but I’ll wait to see what comes out of the press conferences.
