Review of Game Week 28

Review of Game Week 28

GW Points: 45
Overall Points: 1,625
Overall Rank: 974
Transfers: Williams Out, In Azpilicueta

Overall this was another average week for the team. Picking up 45 points wasn’t a bad result, however I’ve only just hung on to being in the top 1,000 teams in the overall league. The transfer was a sensible move to get some Chelsea coverage in defence. This didn’t pay off during the game week with West Ham scoring a late goal on Monday evening and Everton keeping a clean sheet at the weekend. I still believe the transfer will be a wise move until the end of the season.

Positives:

Another clean sheet for Everton ensured Coleman picked up 8 points over the weekend. The only disappointment with this result was that I took Williams out early in the week.

Aguero continues to pick up points since his return to the starting line up. With Man City still in the Champions League and the FA cup he will have some vital extra fixtures until the end of the season.

Eriksen once again got on the score sheet and provided an assist as Spurs took apart Millwall in the FA cup. They also have a fairly easy run of fixtures during April.

Potential Issues:

Kane injury. This looked like a repeat of the injury that kept him on the sidelines for some time earlier in the season. There’s no real information available at the moment regarding how serious the injury is, however it looks like it could be fairly long term. With only one transfer remaining for March this creates a real problem with both Kane and Ibrahimovic potentially missing a number of games.

Sanchez, Costa and Hazard all scored a good number of points during game week 28. I’ll be replacing Kane or Ibrahimovic with one of these players as my last transfer for March. However it’s a difficult decision with Arsenal not in the best of form and question marks over Sanchez’s future at the club. On the other hand Chelsea face some difficult fixtures during April.

Tips for Game Week 29

Man Utd are surely the team to watch during game week 29. They have three fixtures over the week including the crucial return leg in the Europa League. The main complication is that Ibrahimovic will miss two of these games and it looks like they have injury problems up front. The likes of Pogba and Mkhitaryan should get a good amount of game time with the potential for picking up points.

The other teams to consider are Man City and Chelsea who both have two fixtures during the game week. Chelsea face Man Utd in the FA cup this evening and Man City have their return leg in the Champions League against Monaco. I’d be looking at the likes of Sane, Sterling, Aguero, Hazard or Costa for scoring well this week.

Many managers will be stuck with both Kane and Ibrahimovic. I’ll be publishing a more detailed blog later today regarding my thoughts on this. However at this stage I’m thinking I will probably hang on to Ibrahimovic and transfer out Kane.

As always, share your thoughts/ideas in the comments below.
