Predicted Line Up
England’s starting line up is tricky to predict as there are doubts over Shaw’s fitness and the starting formation. We could see Mainoo or Alexander-Arnold filling in midfield so take the below with a pinch of salt.
GK: Pickford – 4m
LB: Trippier – 4.5m
CB: Maguire – 4.5m
CB: Stones – 4.5m
RB: Walker – 4m
CM: Rice – 3m
CM: Mainoo – 3m
CM: Bellingham – 6m
LW: Foden – 6.5m
ST: Kane – 7.5m
RW: Saka – 6.5m
Top Player Picks
Kane (STR – 7.5m)
He’s scored a lot of goals in qualifying, had a good season at Bayern despite not picking up a trophy and his ownership will be very high. He’s almost certainly the first name on my team sheet.
Bellingham (MID – 6m)
If he plays in a similar position to where he plays for Madrid he could be a massive point scorer across the tournament. Saying that he’s only got 1 goal and 1 assist in his last 6 games for England but a big name playing in a major tournament normally means previous stats can be ignored. It will be hard to get him in alongside Kane but I’m tempted to try.
Saka (MID – 6.5m)
It’s easy to pick out England players as we are more familiar with them but Saka stands out as someone who could well get a lot of points via goals or assists. I do think he’s slightly overpriced though.
Foden (MID – 6.5m)
Another obvious one to highlight given his form at City. Again I feel he’s overpriced at 6.5m which means there’s simply no chance of getting Kane, Bellingham, Saka and Foden into one balanced team.
Rice (MID – 3m)
Could be a good cheap enabler despite his deeper playing position. He should still pick up bonus points and the question we’ve got to ask ourselves is will he pick up half as many points as a 6m player? I think he might and his ownership is already high.
Walker (DEF – 4m)
I had to pick out an England defender given that they might get a lot of clean sheets. Walker is the cheapest who should start but I’m not sure he’s got much attacking returns potential.
Summary
Impossible to ignore England considering most of us live here. This typically means most casual players will pick England players, making their ownership high. The knock-on effect is that it’s very dangerous for us not to own these players. I’m almost certainly going with Kane, the others are tempting but I don’t like the high value of Belingham, Saka and Foden when we could get players from other nations with a similar point scoring potential for a lot cheaper but it’s a risk to leave all three out. They’ve also got a decent draw and are favoured to go all the way in the tournament.
