Review of Game Week 30

Review of Game Week 30

GW Points: 104
Overall Points: 3,402
Overall Rank: 238

Another frustrating game week and overall it’s been a difficult past 2-3 weeks in general but I’m still holding a very respectable position on the leaderboard. I do need to try and stop the downward spiral but it’s a little out of my control with unfortunate injuries. Anyone who’s been following my team closely will have seen this play out but I didn’t go for Bowen when he scored well last week – I had Watkins who missed game time due to injury. So I swapped them over this week and Bowen got injured and Watkins scored well. There’s just very little that can be done about this and it’s just the way it goes sometimes. I also felt a little hard done by that Liverpool didn’t field a strong team in the Europa League last night – if it was the Champions League they would have but they deservedly paid the price for that.

Here is my breakdown of each player:

Ederson – I should have swapped him for Raya really but it didn’t cost me a huge number of points, hopefully, he’s now back from injury.

Gabriel – will probably keep until the end of the season.

Bradley – dmay need to move on as he’s not starting as often.

Van Dijk – will probably keep until the end of the season.

Bowen – will need to come out due to injury.

Palmer – kept for a single game week hoping for a big score against Sheffield United but it didn’t happen. Will now probably remove.

Foden – picked up a minor injury so hopefully won’t need to take him out.

Diaz – I’m keeping him for now, he should have started in Europe.

Saka – glad I kept him, decent return this week. Keep for the rest of the season.

Salah – keep for the rest of the season.

Haaland – keep for the rest of the season and probably captain most weeks.

Player watchlist

De Bruyne – considering bringing him back in but not sure he’s going to play two games per week.

Nunez – could be worth considering, Liverpool should play a strong side against Atalanta.

Kudus – on my list to consider but probably not for the next game week.

Alexander-Arnold – will need to be considered when he returns from injury.

White/Saliba – could be a good option to replace Bradley but not sure I see Arsenal getting through in the Champions League.

Watkins – he’s frustrated me all season by doing very little when I’ve owned him but he does appear to start in the European games. If Villa progress he could be one to get back in.

Plan for game week 31

I’m very undecided at the moment for game week 31. I’ll almost certainly take out Bowen as I’m not sure when he’s going to be fit again. De Bruyne could be a good replacement with City having important fixtures this week. I’m tempted by another Liverpool player, even if it’s just for this game week. They look likely to go out of Europe but surely they have to start a strong team in the second leg of that fixture to attempt to progress. The obvious choice would be Nunez for me.

  1. With Liverpool not scoring enough despite making countless chances Klopp could turn to Jota now that he is fit.

    1. I agree, still think Nunez will get game time this week though and he’s a popular choice already.
