I’m writing this review at half time during the Palace V Everton fixture so the game week isn’t quite over yet. However, I can’t see much changing in terms of my overall position regardless of what happens in that game. Overall I’m over the moon with how my game week panned out. Everything seemed to fall into place perfectly. Palmer grabbed a double in his first game in my team and Olise bagged 18 points as my 12th Man. I personally think this was a great move (and lucky), I knew Palace wouldn’t play in game week 19 so I didn’t want to permanently bring him in and he’s also now injured. With Son and Salah both unavailable next week, some people may now be stuck with a player who won’t feature. Fingers crossed this should play into my hands next week as I’d love to hold a top 100 position for as long as possible.
Here is my breakdown of each player:
Dubravka – happy with 6 points from a cheap keeper considering Newcastle conceded 4.
Saliba – poor week but stays in my team for now.
Colwill – a clean sheet would have been great but 4 points is better than nothing. Stays in my team while Chelsea have extra fixtures.
Alexander-Arnold – not a great week but they can’t all be, stays in my team.
Palmer – big returns instantly, stays in my team for Chelsea’s good run of additional fixtures.
Bowen – disappointing week but overall happy with him in my team.
Saka – 8 points from one game isn’t too bad from Saka.
Foden – another 10 points for Foden, happy with his consistent returns.
Watkins – not too unhappy with 8 points. Stays in for now as I’ve got to take Son and Salah out.
Son – glad I stuck with Son for another week, but has to be removed due to leaving for the Asia Cup.
Salah – delighted with 36 points from Salah (as captain) before he departs for the African Cup of Nations. Needs to be taken out now though.
12th Man: Olise – very happy with 18 points from this booster.
Player watchlist
Haaland – he’s coming back in when he’s fit to play. Will always either be on my team or on the watch list.
Sterling – tempted to triple up on Chelsea players due to their extra fixtures. Sterling is a good option as their second highest scoring player in the game so far.
Nunez – seems like a good option considering Liverpool have extra fixtures as well. Good points total to date but a little hit and miss.
Gallagher – not quite racked up the same points as Sterling but should get game time.
Jota – could be slightly more explosive than Nunez, but more injury prone. Slighty bigger risk I think.
Van Dijk – safe option but I think I’d prefer to bring in a more attacking player.
Plan for game week 19
Slightly easier week for making transfer decisions. Salah and Son simply have to come out as they won’t be available. Considering it’s the FA Cup, line ups could be very unpredictable. As a result, I’m going to target Chelsea and Liverpool players as they’ve got the EFL Cup fixtures as well so should get at least some game time. I’m fairly sure I’ll lock in bringing in Nunez and Sterling – out of the Chelsea and Liverpool options they both have good ownership and are amongst the highest scoring players so far in the game.
