There’s still one game to go in game week 16 but I wanted to get my review out promptly this week. The week ended up being a little disappointing. Based on the points I’d scored, I expected to at least hold position or even rise slightly into the top 100, however, I was surprised to see that I’d actually dropped slightly in position. Given that I had decent points from TAA, Tsimikas, Saliba, Bowen and Salah, I thought I’d had a good week. Regardless, it’s only a slight drop on the leaderboard and my team is still in good shape going forward. My biggest issue with the game week was that I’d highlighted Kudus as a player on my watchlist but didn’t bring him in for his big score. Had Haaland not been injured, Kudus would have been my only affordable option from the players I was interested in. Frustratingly, in this position, I’d have definitely put him in instead of Ward-Prowse but it just didn’t pan out that way.
Here is my breakdown of each player:
Sanchez – needs to be replaced now that he’s injured.
Saliba – 9 points, stays in my team.
Tsimikas – very happy with 19 points from Tsimikas, he’s been a great pick recently given his value.
Alexander-Arnold – 21 points is a brilliant return from TAA. Stays in my team.
Bowen – very happy with 17 points from Bowen. Stays in my team.
Garnacho – only 2 points and he was always a punt. Likely to be transferred out this week.
Saka – 5 points isn’t the best but he stays in my team long term.
Foden – slightly disappointed with 6 points but he’s a keeper for now given other issues in my team.
Ward-Prowse – not happy with 4 points across two fixtures. If it wasn’t for needing to take Sanchez and Garnacho out, he’d be making way this week.
Son – not the explosive start I wanted but I’m keeping him for now.
Salah – 13 points wasn’t too bad from Salah. He’s staying in my team long term.
Player watchlist
Dubravka – very cheap and due a price rise. I need a new keeper as well so I’ll almost certainly bring him in this week.
Watkins – tempted to take a punt on Watkins given Villa play Sheff Utd this weekend.
Trippier – glad to see him only return 1 point this week. Tempted to bring him in but trying to resist given that he’s likely to drop in value.
Haaland – he’s coming back in when he’s fit to play. Will always either be on my team or on the watch list.
Kudus – feel like I’ve missed the boat with him but still worth keeping an eye on.
Palmer – good fixtures coming up for Chelsea. If I had three transfers I’d probably take Ward-Prose out for Palmer.
Plan for game week 17
There are a few players on the radar for game week 17. I’m mostly looking at Dubravka, Haaland, Watkins or Palmer. As we don’t know how fit Haaland is, I’m tempted to rule him out given that City only have one game during the week as well. I think Dubravka is a no brainer with Sanchez being injured. Dubravka is also likely to go up in value so it’s a sensible move. I’m then keen to move Garnacho on, or Ward-Prowse but I think Garnacho is less likely to score well. I could bring Watkins in given that Villa play Sheff Utd and he’s scored consistently well across the season so far. Even if Haaland does play, there’s a chance Watkins could match him for points. I’m tempted by Palmer but Watkins is slightly ahead in terms of who I think will score more points across the week.
Newcastle have Luton and Forrest,
If your bringing dubravka in what about trippier aswell?
Go for some clean sheets, maybe even captain trippier..!
City only play once (haaland still a doubt)
And arsenal and Liverpool play each other.
I’m bringing in Dubravka but not Trippier. Could be a mistake but he’s not been in the best form.
Or even use trippier as 12th man booster and then bring him in the following week after his price goes down. ??
I’m not feeling Trippier this week based on his recent form so I wouldn’t fancy risking the 12th man booster on him.
