Game week 27 ties in nicely with transfers being reset for March. If you’re looking to make some early changes, below are some of of my best picks for the current week.
Aguero (Man City)
Many managers transferred Jesus into their teams as the young Brazilian made an incredible start at Man City. Unfortunately the injury he picked up against Bournemouth looks likely to see him on the sidelines until the end of the season. As a result Aguero looks certain to lead the line at City for the remainder of the season. With the FA cup replay against Huddersfield tomorrow night, this could pose the perfect opportunity to pick up some early points during the month. Aguero started the first time around and if he is selected to start tomorrow evening this is a transfer I’ll almost certainly be looking to make. City will want to progress in this competition and are the only team with an additional fixture this week. They also face Sunderland at the weekend which could be another opportunity to pick up points with Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool and Everton all playing each other.
Ibrahimovic (Man Utd)
In my opinion Ibrahimovic is a must have player while Man Utd remain in the Europa League. He’s now the highest scoring player in the game to date and Man Utd have an easier fixture at the weekend when they host Bournemouth. They also have the advantage of extra fixtures during March due to their Europa League last 16 ties. He picked up a hat trick in the previous round and it would be a dangerous move to overlook him.
Gabbiadini (Southampton)
Gabbiadini has made an instant impression since his arrival at Southampton. He was unfortunate to not pick up a hat trick in the EFL cup final and has picked up 39 points over only three games. If you’re looking for a cheaper option this weekend, Southampton face Watford and it would be no surprise to once again see Gabbiadini grabbing the headlines.
Aguero will be the player I’m looking for in the starting lineup against Huddersfield as this transfer is a complete no brainer with Jesus injured. However I could equally make a case for any Man City regular who is also starting this game. Sterling seems to be hitting a run of form and he could be another to consider. City also have the additional Champions League fixture this month as they face Monaco in the return fixture. I’d also ensure good representation for Man Utd with additional Europa League fixtures in March. Pogba is still the highest point scoring midfielder in the game and is worth considering. Arsenal visit Liverpool and Everton travel to Tottenham, these could potentially be lower point scoring games as these top of the table clashes can be hard to predict. It’s worth noting that Chelsea don’t have a game this week, if you were considering making a move for one of their players it would make sense to hold fire until they face West Ham on Monday.
